What we do, in plain language.

Goblis Foundation is a Kenya-based non-profit foundation focused on two jobs: helping people build responsible social enterprises through Jikimu, and helping rural communities develop practical, evidence-led opportunities through Mashinani.

What problem are we trying to solve?

Capability and resources often exist—but the path between a real problem and an accountable solution is fragmented.

People may need enterprise capability but not know where to begin. Rural communities may face connected constraints that do not fit a single-sector project. Specialist organisations may exist, yet roles, evidence and follow-through remain disconnected. Goblis builds the programme relationship around those gaps and brings in the right capability without pretending to own every solution.

For people building solutions

Jikimu creates a governed route from problem/idea to specialist social-enterprise development and later outcome follow-up.

For rural places

Mashinani begins with locally grounded diagnosis and coordinates appropriate enterprise, institutional, research, public or delivery responses.

For partners and funders

Relationships, budgets, authority, evidence and reporting are separated so support strengthens the mission rather than redefining it.

Two programme jobs

Jikimu develops people and enterprises. Mashinani develops place-based pathways.

They can connect when a rural opportunity produces a viable social-enterprise pathway, but the programme records and accountabilities remain distinct.

Delivery discipline

National ambition. Locally rooted delivery.

Local delivery assignments are separately approved by geography, programme scope, due diligence and evidence. A strategic partnership does not automatically confer last-mile delivery authority.

Institutional signals

Useful transparency without turning operations into impact claims.

These values come from governed system records when available.

Ubunifu Institute

Jikimu connects into these Ubunifu Institute pathways

Ubunifu Institute is a separate Kenya-based specialist learning and enterprise-development institution. Goblis keeps the Jikimu programme relationship and handoff accountable; Ubunifu owns its learning, assessment, progression and related institutional records. These links explain connected pathways; they do not redirect a Goblis contribution to Ubunifu.
