Uwezo Program
Traditional financial institutions have avoided lending to youth due to their relative inability to comply with the high transaction costs, difficulty in assessing and managing their risk profile, and lack of the required financial documentation as well as collateral. This are just but a few of the challenges the youth face in their day to day lives as they try survive and reach their dreams. Hopefully a solution can be found to the problem of the youth. This may include the launch of more youth groups and support from the government and non-governmental organizations.
Like any other African country, Kenya requires capital to develop the vast resources and make use of the high available human capital resource to better the lives of her citizens and root out poverty. Kenyan start-ups and SMEs remain underfunded by the mainstream financial service sector due to a lack of capacity and expensive funding to service. We provide various seed grants to the social entrepreneurs in our different program to help them kick-start their ideas. The beneficiaries of our grants program generate income and savings from their social enterprises that improve their standards of living and breaks the cycle of poverty for themselves and their families. We fund social enterprises with a strong social mission and the beneficiaries must undergo training in our various programs.

Peer-to-Peer Grants Platform
Kenyans are synonymous with a self-help tradition where people pull resources together for social causes or development activities dubbed as ‘harambee’. Goblis.Org is a peer-to-peer crowdfunding platform that enables young social entrepreneurs to fundraise from their families, friends, and well-wishers to raise capital to start and capitalize social enterprises. This program creates a seamless peer to peer self-help funding platform through a digitized and well-coordinated Harambee process for social entrepreneurs. Discover More (www.goblis.org)
Program-Related Investments Grants (PRIs)
PRIs are low-interest loans that we give to social enterprises and start-ups. We give special attention to this form of grant because once repaid, it will support another needy social enterprise. However, beneficiaries do not have to have any form of security and we will forgive when it's evident that when repaid, it would lead to the collapse of the enterprise.
Seed Grant
A small seed grant is a donation that gives social entrepreneurs an immediate starting capital for a business that would be key to improving their family’s standard of living. Profits generated from their new enterprise can be used to address basic family necessities like meals, clothing, healthcare, education costs for children and build capital and savings for their social enterprises, instead of repaying.
Equity Grant
Innovative business ideas identified may receive funding in exchange for equity. We will invest in business start-ups of interest in focus industries that meet set investment criteria by injecting capital in exchange for equity ownership and this ensures that we invest in businesses where we are represented in their management to ensure the full realization of projects. The return on investments is used to further our mission.
