Vipaji Program

VIPAJI is a Swahili plural word meaning ‘talents’. Talents in Kenya remain an untapped resource as a result of the lack of necessary basic resources to develop and empower children and young people, safe for a few sporting activities.

Each person has something they are gifted and talented in, and they are all invaluable and gifted to us with a special inherent purpose. We are committed to the maturing of talents in Kenya through an intensive talent development program focusing on the empowerment of the youth through their natural talent to make them be of help in the future instead of using them as a pass-time hobby. We are geared towards nurturing talents of young people through open campaigns and auditions in underserved communities, so that they can be used sustainably to create the much desired employment for the youth. Talent can make the world move together as one, creating peace and prosperity and as a way of self-employment to young people. We are strong advocates of sports for change, which bring about positive social change for individuals and communities through the use of sport and physical activity.

With the increasing commercialization of sporting activities, greater opportunities for professional mainstream talents and many other untapped talents in Kenya can be developed and empowered as a way of improving people’s standards of living rather than using it as a pass-time hobby.

Talent Sensitization

To sensitize the communities about the importance of talents in child development, we hold talent sensitization programs within communities, schools and religious organizations. This gives children an opportunity to display their various talents and gain recognition and be appreciated by the community. Sensitization also helps us identify exceptionally gifted children who could be eligible for talent development program. This sensitizes parents, guardians and teachers on the importance of nurturing their children’s talents.

Talent Search

We run a regular search of talented young people from underserved backgrounds. This is aimed at identifying talents and collecting data on talent development in the underserved communities. In embracing digital technology, we make use of digital tools on our website to enable young people register their talents for possible support. Information collected during this process helps us in planning for interventions to benefit the talented youth in our various programs.

Talent Screening

After talent search and selection of talented young people in the various categories, the process of nurturing starts. By using appropriate manuals, the beneficiaries are mentored, inspired, developed and empowered in pursuit of their personalized gifts. They are also taught about sexual and reproductive health rights education, communication, social, and life skills and the appreciation of cultural diversity Kenya. Talent screening is intended to produce future high performance professionals who will also account and be responsible for their actions.

Talent Incubation

The Foundation selects exceptionally gifted young people to join our talent incubation program. The beneficiaries receive talent training, life skills coaching and mentorship by a dedicated Talent Incubation Team. This program is vital because it will ensure that these young people will receive sustained support for the proper development of their talents. The beneficiaries are also exposed to international opportunities and external trainings that will not only improve their gifts but boost their development potential. We arrange for scholarship opportunities for exceptionally talented young people to attend programs both locally and abroad.

Talent Management

We help the talented young people who complete our incubation program to manage their talent. We coach them on how to improve their craft, opening them up to opportunities, and widen their scope and generate wealth. In Kenya, many talented individuals have been reduced to poverty following poor money management practices, we come in here with financial management skills by giving them advice on monetizing their skills, making sound investments and a creating a saving plan.
